Duff & Phelps, a provider of independent financial advisory and investment banking services, today announced that Atsuo Andy Watanabe has joined the firm as a managing director to lead the Tokyo office.
Duff & Phelps also announced that Yasuo Ando joined the firm as a director in the Tokyo office.
Mr. Watanabe joins Duff & Phelps from GMD Corporate Finance (GMD), a member firm of KPMG International. While at GMD as partner, Mr. Watanabe assisted many strategic buyers and financial investors; advised industrial corporations on reorganizations, divestitures and turnarounds; and assisted in a number of transactions. Mr. Watanabe previously worked in the corporate finance division and the international planning division of the long-term credit Bank of Japan.
Mr. Watanabe brings more than 20 years of experience in investment banking and corporate finance, with strong expertise in M&A, valuation and structured finance. He has managed various transactions for top-tier Japanese, U.S. and multi-national corporations and advised a number of major Japanese corporations on their restructuring efforts, including strategic planning and divestitures of non-core business. -PR Newswire
