Allianz Life Insurance of North America has announced that it had added two accomplished senior executives to the leadership team of this $10 billion annuity, life insurance and long term care company. Maureen Phillips has been named chief counsel, of the company and deputy general counsel, Allianz of America. In that role, she is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the company’s legal function. She will also be part of CEO Gary Bhojwani’s leadership group. Phillips brings over 27 years of corporate legal experience, in private practice and in-house, with more than 17 of those in the insurance industry.
In another recent appointment, the company named Catherine Mahone to senior vice president enterprise operations. Mahone leads all aspects of company’s customer service operations, and is a member of the company’s leadership group, contributing to the development and execution of company wide strategies and goals. Mahone reports directly to CEO Gary Bhojwani.
Before joining the company, Mahone was an executive at Ameriprise Financial, where she held a succession of leadership posts during 20-year tenure. Most recently she was vice president project management at Ameriprise and was responsible for implementing corporate wide projects, technology enhancements and new product launches. Mahone earned a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications from the University of Minnesota and a Masters in Business Communications from the University of St. Thomas. -Business Wire
