Russell Read to Step Down as Chief Investment Officer of California Public Employees’ Retirement System

Russell Read, chief investment officer of California Public Employees’ Retirement System, announced he will step down from his post effective June 30, 2008. Read took the top investing spot at CalPERS in June 2006, after working in investing for Deutsche Asset Management and Scudder Investments, as well as having held senior investment positions with OppenhiemerFunds, Prudential Insurance and First Chicago. -East Bay Business Times (California)
