Northern Trust announced that George P. Maris has joined its investment management business, Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI), as a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager of its institutional Large Cap Core strategy. Maris is responsible for managing the Northern Growth Equity and Northern Institutional Diversified Growth mutual funds, and is a member of the fundamental active growth equity team, headed by John S. Cole, chief investment officer of U.S. Growth Fundamental Equity strategies. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Maris was a senior portfolio manager at Columbia Management Group in Boston, where he co-managed both large cap and mid cap equity strategies. Prior to this role, he was a portfolio manager in the U.S. value equity group at Putnam Investments also in Boston, and an analyst with Lincoln Capital Management in Chicago.-PR Newswire
