Barney C. Briggs has been appointed chief financial officer of Barclays Bank Delaware (Barclaycard US), the credit card business of Barclays Bank in the United States. In this role, Mr. Briggs will oversee the entire scope of financial performance and management, including financial plan development, financial reporting, financial control, accounting, treasury and audit. He will report to Lloyd M. Wirshba, chief executive offer and will serve on the Barclaycard US Executive Leadership Team.
Mr. Briggs comes to Barclaycard from Citigroup where he most recently served as senior vice president and senior director of the American Airlines AAdvantage business. Prior to that position, Mr. Briggs served as CFO of Citi’s travel & business strategic unit. He was also vice president of Citi’s private label oil planning & control unit.PR Newswire
