Jefferies Announces New Hires

Jefferies announced that the company has hired Verena Mladek, who was brought on as a senior vice president for emerging market sales.

Ms. Mladek’s new role at Jefferies has her focusing on sales of emerging market fixed-income eurobonds to institutional investors in Germany, Austria, the U.K. and other countries across Europe. She reports to Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, co-heads of Jefferies’ emerging-markets group.

A native of Vienna, Ms. Mladek worked for eight years in fixed-income emerging markets sales at Dresdner. Prior to Dresdner, Mladek worked at Raiffeisen Zentralbank where she was involved with fixed-income emerging markets trading.

Jefferies looked to Dresdner and picked up James Grzinic, a senior vice president and head of European retail-equity research, and Charlotte Andrews, a vice president and marketing analyst tracking consumer and retail companies.

Jefferies also added Peter Timpson as senior vice president of emerging markets trading in the London office.  He left a similar role at Dresdner.
