Morgan Stanley has hired former Merrill Lynch executive David Moffitt for a newly created position to lead the bank’s securitised debt sales in its capital markets division. Moffitt will head the global credit solutions and will be responsible for all primary securitisation and asset restructuring opportunities.
The corporate securitisation business under Tom Cahill will also report to Moffitt. Moffitt will report to the bank’s co-heads of capital markets, Raj Dhanda and John Hyman. On the fixed-income side, John D Pearce will coordinate the efforts alongside his current responsibilities. Pearce will be the point person for inquiries from sales and trading clients regarding credit portfolio, restructurings and asset dispositions.
