Penserra Securities continued to expand its global program trading capabilities by hiring Jason Valdez.
Valdez will lead the effort to expand the firm’s program trading capabilities. He will initially be working on the New York City trading desk, but will transfer to the California trading desk later in 2010.
Valdez is former director of trading at Rosenblatt Securities. He brings a deep and diversified set of skills from both the buy-side and sell-side. Prior to his tenure with Rosenblatt, he traded transition management portfolios for Russell Investment Services. He also spent three years at Thomas Weisel Partners, where he helped launch program trading, and five years at Bear Stearns.
