Houlihan Lokey Appoints Rit Amin

Houlihan Lokey announced that Rit Amin has joined the firm as a senior vice president in the private finance practice. Mr. Amin will be based in the Los Angeles office and will report to Noel Ryan, managing director and co-head of the private finance practice. He will focus on raising senior, mezzanine debt and private equity capital for leveraged buyouts and acquisition financings, as well as recapitalizations and refinancing for the firm’s clients across all industry sectors. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Amin was a director in Wachovia Securities’ leveraged finance group.-Business Wire

Houlihan Lokey Announces Executive Changes

Houlihan Lokey announced that it has recruited a team of senior investment banking officers formerly with JP Morgan’s real estate advisory within the real estate and lodging investment banking group. Gary Gordon joins as a managing director, John Kenyon and Patrick Gillan as senior vice presidents and Harshad Mehta as an associate.

The team will be located in the firm’s New York office reporting to Jonathan Geanakos and John Schoenfeld, co-heads of the real estate, lodging & leisure group. While at JP Morgan, Mr. Gordon and his team were primarily responsible for middle market investment sales and debt and equity real estate activity for non-public companies. Mr. Gordon joins from JP Morgan where he was a managing director overseeing the real estate advisory group within real estate and lodging investment banking.

Mr. Kenyon, also from JP Morgan, was vice president of the group and has been involved in the execution of $12 billion of public and private real estate advisory assignments. Mr. Gillan was most recently a vice president at JP Morgan and has over 20 years of experience in real estate in which he has advised on over $5.0 billion in real estate transactions and portfolios. Ms. Mehta joins from JP Morgan where she was an associate with the group. She earned a Master of Professional Studies in real estate from Cornell University and a Bachelors of Architecture from the Institute of Environmental Design, VV Nagar, India.-Business Wire

Michael Hsieh Joins Houlihan Lokey

Houlihan Lokey announced that Michael Hsieh joined as a senior vice president in the financial restructuring group. Hsieh has covered automotive, steel, industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, retail, gaming and consumer products. Previously, he worked at Piper Jaffray & Co. and CIBC World Markets, and he was a member of CIBC’s leveraged finance group.
