Janus Capital Group introduced Janus Adviser International Forty Fund (JFFAX), a concentrated portfolio that seeks long-term growth of capital by investing directly in 30-50 companies across developed and emerging markets. Portfolio Manager, Laurent Saltiel, will manage Janus Adviser International Forty Fund. Saltiel, who also co-manages Janus Adviser International Equity Fund, joined Janus in 2002 as an equity analyst covering basic material, consumer staple and retail securities. Prior to that, he was an analyst with RS Investments in San Francisco. Saltiel has a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University and is fluent in French, English and Spanish.-Business Wire

Janus Capital Group appointed two new vice presidents-Ginger Fanning and Stephen Dedyo-who will be responsible for leading Janus’ corporate relationships with key global intermediary corporate clients. Fanning, who is based in Boston, and Dedyo, who is based in New York City, recently joined Janus’ Global Business Development team as directors of strategic relationship management.
Fanning comes to Janus from Putnam Investments where she spent the past 10 years as a senior relationship manager. Prior to joining Janus, Dedyo served as director of global business development with AllianceBernstein Investments from 2004-2008.-Business Wire

Janus Capital Group has appointed Dan Porter as vice president and director of consultant relations with JanusINTECH Institutional Asset Management. Porter, who is based in Kansas City, MO, will report to Carolyn Patton, CFA, senior vice president and managing director, head of global consultant relations with JanusINTECH Institutional.
This position is a new role and expansion of the global consultant relations team which is now comprised of eight professionals. Porter will provide institutional investment consultants, both manager research professionals and field consultants, with guidance on the JanusINTECH Institutional products. He will also serve as an internal resource for institutional sales, portfolio management and client service professionals, facilitating their interactions with the institutional consultant community.
Porter has 25 years of industry experience, including a senior consultant position at Demarche Associates. Most recently, Porter was a director with MacKay Shields where he was responsible for consultant distribution of domestic and international equity, fixed income, single-strategy hedge funds, and high yield strategies. -Business Wire

Janus Capital Group announced that David Corkins, portfolio manager of Janus Fund, Janus Adviser Large Cap Growth Fund, Janus Aspen Large Cap Growth Portfolio and related products for retail and institutional clients, is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.
Corkins will transition the funds to his successor, Jonathan Coleman, who manages Janus Enterprise Fund and its related portfolios. Coleman will no longer manage Janus Enterprise Fund and its related portfolios, but will remain a co-chief investment officer of Janus. As lead portfolio manager of Janus Fund, Coleman will be assisted by co-portfolio manager Dan Riff, who will continue as a co-portfolio manager of Janus adviser long/short fund and Janus’ institutional long/short portfolio. Brian Demain, an assistant portfolio manager and protégé of Coleman, will succeed him as portfolio manager of Janus Enterprise Fund and the company’s mid-cap growth portfolios.
The portfolio management changes are effective November 1, 2007. Corkins’ successor on Janus Fund, Coleman, joined the company in 1994 as an equity research analyst. Demain, who worked closely with Coleman for many years, will assume the helm of Janus Enterprise Fund, Janus Adviser Mid Cap Growth Fund, Janus Aspen Mid Cap Growth Portfolio and related portfolios.
