Chartis announced executive appointments to its worldwide management team, another step in its progress toward global integration. These appointments are John Doyle has been named executive vice president of Chartis, and president and chief executive officer of Chartis U.S. Mr. Doyle has responsibility for Chartis’ U.S. and Canadian commercial property- casualty business and its private client group. Over the course of Mr. Doyle’s 23-year career, he has held senior executive positions in management and professional liability, excess casualty, workers’ compensation, and field management within the U.S. commercial property-casualty companies of AIG and AIU Holdings. Ralph Mucerino has been named senior vice president of Chartis and chief operating officer of Chartis International. In addition, Mr. Mucerino will serve as chairman of Chartis’ global marine and energy businesses. He will continue to report to Nicholas C. Walsh, vice chairman of Chartis and president and chief executive officer of Chartis International. Charles Schader has been named senior vice president and chief claims officer of Chartis. Mr. Schader had been AIG’s senior vice president, Claims. Jeffrey Hayman has been named senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Chartis, responsible for Chartis’ global communications, operations and systems, administration and diversity.In 2003, Mr. Hayman was named regional president, AIU Far East. James Bracken has been named senior vice president and deputy chief financial officer for Chartis, reporting to Robert Schimek, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chartis. Previously, he served as executive vice President and deputy chief financial officer for AIU. Frank Douglas has been named senior vice president and chief actuary for Chartis. Mr. Douglas has served as senior vice president and chief actuary for AIG. David Fields has been named senior vice president and chief reinsurance officer for Chartis. In addition to his new global responsibilities, Mr. Fields will continue to serve as underwriting executive for Chartis U.S. Mr. Fields’ career had spanned 27 years with AIG. His previously held the position of reinsurance and underwriting executive for the property casualty group. John Jones has been named vice president, communications for Chartis. Prior to this post, Mr. Jones was senior vice president for communications, commercial insurance. Terri Austin has been named vice president and chief diversity officer for Chartis. Previously, Ms. Austin had been chief diversity officer at AIG. In her new role, Ms. Austin will be responsible for expanding and implementing Chartis’ diversity initiatives in relation to the company’s workforce, products, suppliers, vendors and customer base. Paulette Mullings Bradnock has been named vice president and director of internal audit for Chartis. She joins Chartis from AIG, where she has served as deputy director of internal audit and audit director since 2005. In that role, Ms. Mullings Bradnock was responsible for the global audit coverage of corporate groups, general insurance and financial services. She also oversaw administration of the audit division. J. Howard Stecker has joined Chartis and been named vice president and chief tax officer. Mr. Stecker comes to Chartis from SMART business advisory & consulting, LLC, where he was senior vice president, co-chief operating officer and chief financial officer. In that capacity, he was the executive managing director of SMART’s finance, accounting, compensation and tax services, which included accounting, attest, tax, actuarial, compensation and benefits services. Agustin Formoso has been named vice president, administration of Chartis. Mr. Formoso has over 30 years of experience in administration with AIG. While he takes on this new position, Mr. Formoso will continue in his current role overseeing administrative matters related to the company’s progress toward operating independence. -Business Wire
