CNA Financial announced that, effective mid-January 2008, John A. Beckman will be appointed senior vice president and chief risk officer. As chief risk officer, Mr. Beckman will be responsible for determining appropriate risk tolerances as well as measuring and monitoring risk throughout CNA.
CNA’s focus on enterprise risk management has been led by executive vice president, Mike Fusco, in his dual role as chief risk officer and chief actuary. Mr. Fusco will continue as executive vice president and chief actuary.
Mr. Beckman recently served as president of ReAdvisory, an operation responsible for consulting services, including enterprise risk management, for specialty reinsurance broker, Carvill. Also joining CNA in mid-January will be Tom Stone, who will assume the role of vice president of catastrophe modeling and reporting and will report directly to Beckman. -Business Wire
