Guy Carpenter & Company Appoints Andrew Marcell, Pete Chandler and Kevin Fisher

Guy Carpenter & Company has tapped two men to lead the company’s U.S. operations. Andrew Marcell will take up the CEO position, while the COO spot will go to Pete Chandler.

Marcell will immediately relocate to New York from London, where he has served as Guy Carpenter’s CEO of global practices and head of placement strategy since 2010.

Chandler, who has been with the company since 2009, previously served as head of the company’s U.S. eastern region and head of the western region before that.

Christopher Townsend To Join MetLife

MetLife announced that Christopher Townsend will join the company as head of its Asia region, consisting of Japan, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong and China. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Townsend will report to the CEO and become a member of the company’s executive management team.

Townsend joins MetLife from Chartis, where he most recently served as chief executive officer of the company’s Asia-Pacific region. Earlier, he was the CEO for Hong Kong, head of mergers and acquisitions, and held a number of senior leadership roles in Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Sydney. Wells Fargo Insurance Names Michael B. Murray and Suzanne O’Keefe

Wells Fargo Insurance has named Michael B. Murray senior vice president and managing director for its Charlotte, N.C. operations, as well as operations in Winston Salem, N.C. and Greenville and Columbia, S.C. He will be based in Charlotte, N.C.

In his role, Murray will be responsible for overseeing insurance sales and operations within the region, reporting to John Meehan, regional managing director for Wells Fargo Insurance’s Mid-Atlantic region.

Manulife Financial Corporation Appoints Steve Roder

Manulife Financial Corporation announced the appointment of Steve Roder as incoming senior executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). His appointment is expected to become effective in the beginning of June, subject to immigration approvals.

Pacific Life Insurance Company has named its chief financial officer and chief investment officer, Khanh T. Tran, as its new president, starting April 1, 2012.
