Sebastien Maurin Joins Perella Weinberg Partners

Perella Weinberg Partners announced that Sebastien Maurin has joined the firm as a managing director in its corporate advisory group.

Mr. Maurin will focus on restructuring and distressed merger and acquisition transactions. He will be based in London.

Stifel, Nicolaus has expanded its full-service capital markets platform through the creation of Stifel Capital Advisors (SCA), led by Stephan Kuppenheimer and other professionals. Barclays Capital Appoints Johan Leven

Barclays Capital appointed ex-Goldman Sachs executive Johan Leven to its Asian-Pacific corporate finance team.

Leven will head the unit together with Richard Gallivan. The two will report to Matthew Ginsburg, who moved from Morgan Stanley to set up Barclays’ investment banking franchise in Asia.

Weingarten Realty Investors Promotes Patty Bender, Joe Shafer, Bill Goeke, Frank Rollow, Candy Tillack, Gary Wankum, Chris Byrd, Lee Brody and Miles Sanchez

Weingarten Realty Investors announced the following promotions.

Patty Bender has been promoted to executive vice president and director of leasing.

Bender joined Weingarten in 1982, and was promoted to her recent role of senior vice president/director of leasing in 2004.

Joe Shafer has been promoted to senior vice president and chief accounting officer.

Shafer is responsible for all accounting related functions and cash management.

Shafer joined WRI in 1995 as Controller and was promoted to vice president/CAO in 1999. Prior to joining WRI, he was a partner at Deloitte & Touche.

Bill Goeke has been promoted to senior vice president and property management.

Goeke joined Weingarten in 2004 as vice president and director of property management. For over the past five years, he has assumed responsibility of risk management and JV asset management. Prior to joining WRI, he was senior vice president/director for PM Realty Group where he was responsible for all leasing, property management, construction, engineering and business development for PM Realty Group’s Central Region.

Frank Rollow has been promoted to regional vice president.

Rollow joined Weingarten in 1983 as a property manager. After many promotions throughout his employment, he was promoted to his most recent role of regional director of property management in 2006, where he is responsible for the property management for the Eastern Region.

Candy Tillack has been promoted to regional vice president.

Tillack joined Weingarten in 1982. After many promotions throughout the years, she was promoted to her most recent role of regional director of property management in 2006, where she has been responsible for the administration of property management for the Western Region.

Gary Wankum has been promoted to divisional vice president.

Wankum joined Weingarten in 1988 as a construction coordinator. He was promoted to his most recent role as regional director of Construction in 2007.

Chris Byrd has been promoted to vice president.

In his vice president/regional leasing director role, Byrd will continue to oversee the leasing activity in Arizona and New Mexico.

Byrd joined Weingarten in 2002. In 2007, he was promoted to regional leasing director.

Lee Brody has been promoted to vice president.

As vice president/regional leasing director, Brody will oversee leasing and asset management of Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Charlotte, North Carolina.

Brody joined Weingarten as associate director of leasing in 2007 in Atlanta office from Ramco-Gershenson.

Miles Sanchez has been promoted to vice president of the Mountain Region.

Barclays Capital Appoints Stephen O’Sullivan

Barclays Capital has appointed Stephen O’Sullivan as managing director and head of equity research for non-Japan Asia.

Mr. O’Sullivan will be responsible for building the firm’s equity research platform across non-Japan Asia, including Australia. He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Stu Linde, global head of equity research and Jon Scoffin, head of research for Asia-Pacific.

Mr. O’Sullivan joins Barclays Capital from Macquarie Securities in Hong Kong, where since June 2007 he was the head of research for Asia including Japan. -Datamonitor NewsWire
