Bank of America Corporation Names Bill Williamson

Bank of America Corporation announced that Bill Williamson has been named Maine state president. He replaces Betsey Timm.

As state president, Williamson will help integrate Bank of America business lines throughout Maine. He will also oversee corporate social responsibility activities including philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives, diversity efforts, arts and culture projects, and employee volunteerism.

Bank of America Corporation has named Thong Nguyen as the bank’s new chief of strategy. He succeeds Mike Lyons.

Nguyen was previously the West division executive for U.S. Trust, a division that serves the bank’s wealthiest clients. He formerly worked for Fleet, and also had sales, marketing and business-building jobs with General Electric, McKinsey & Co., and IBM before joining Bank of America in 2003. Bank of America Corporation announced that Bruce Thompson, 46, will become the chief financial officer by the end of the second quarter of 2011. He will replace Chuck Noski, who will become vice chairman of Bank of America. Bank of America Appoints Robert Arth and Bruce Mackenzie

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced that Robert Arth has been named president of Bank of America Business Capital, based in New York.

Arth’s prior role was the BABC East Division executive. He has more than 29 years’ experience in the banking industry and joined Bank of America with the Fleet Bank merger. He had joined Fleet Capital in January 2003, where he held an executive vice president and group manager position while managing their Mid-Atlantic Region.

Bank of America also announced that it has named Bruce MacKenzie to head European high-yield capital markets. He will join as a managing director in July and report to David Ross, head of European leveraged finance.

MacKenzie was a part of Deutsche Bank’s London-based debt unit.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Christian Meissner and Jonathan Shiff

Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Bank of America announced that Christian Meissner has been appointed as head of investment banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Meissner will report to Michael Rubinoff and Purna Saggurti, co-heads of global investment banking, and drive the growth of the investment banking franchise across EMEA. He will sit on the global corporate & investment banking operating committee chaired by Tom Montag, president of global banking & markets, and also the relevant regional operating committees. Based in London, he will join the bank in July 2010.

Meissner joins from Nomura Holdings where he has been deputy global head of investment banking, based in London, since Nomura’s acquisition of certain Lehman Brothers businesses in October 2008. He spent the previous five years at Lehman Brothers, serving most recently as co-chief executive officer for Europe and the Middle East. This followed ten years at Goldman Sachs, culminating in his role as partner and co-head of European equity capital markets.

Kirat Singh and John Tumilty Join Bank of America

Bank of America announced that Kirat Singh will join the bank as head of global markets risk systems, a newly created position, on June 9. He will be based in New York City.

Singh will be responsible for building real-time risk assessment capabilities across asset classes and platforms for business partners.

Previously, Singh was at JPMorgan Chase where he led a team that designed and built a software platform to unify trading, risk and pricing applications for foreign exchange options, equities and commodities. Bank of America announced organizational changes to its global wealth and investment management (GWIM) division.

Kunal Kamlani will join the company as managing director and head of global investment solutions (GIS). He will report to Sallie Krawcheck, president of GWIM.

Kamlani’s group is responsible for managing global financial and investment solutions, including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, new issues, insurance, alternative investments and structured investments. Bank of America promoted Lori Chevy to president of its Broward County market, replacing Mark Muller.

Bank of America announced the following executive appointments.

Steele Alphin has been appointed chief administrative officer.

Cathy Bessant has been appointed a global technology and operations executive. She is currently president of global product solutions.

David Darnell has been appointed president of global commercial banking.

Barbara Desoer has been appointed president of home loans and insurance.

Anne Finucane has been appointed global strategy and marketing officer.

Sallie Krawcheck has been appointed president of global wealth and investment management.

Tom Montag has been appointed president of global banking and markets.

Ed O’Keefe has been appointed general counsel.

Joe Price has been appointed president of consumer, small business and card banking, which includes the company’s deposit, small business and card businesses.
