Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Patrick Hebert and Deane Plummer

Bank of America Merrill Lynch reported that it has named two top positions in its Zurich-based corporate banking and global treasury solutions (GTS) teams.

Patrick Hebert has been named as head of corporate banking for Switzerland. He will report to Manuel Ebner, country executive and CEO of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, and to Heinz Hilger, head of corporate banking for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Hebert has previously been with JP Morgan for nine years in Paris, Frankfurt and Zurich, most recently as a corporate banker covering large Swiss corporate and commodity houses.

Deane Plummer has been named as head of GTS sales for Switzerland. He will report to David Jackson, head of Western European multinational corporate sales for GTS, and to Beate Murray, head of GTS for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Peter Johnson To Join Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced that Peter Johnson will join the company as managing director and head of global futures and OTC clearing. He is expected to join the company in October.

In this role, Johnson will assume global responsibility for all futures, options and OTC derivatives clearing. He will be based in Chicago and report to Denis Manelski, head of global short rates trading and Stu Hendel, head of global prime brokerage.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Daniel Katz, Ross McDougall, Martin Donnelly and Simon Key

Bank of America Merrill Lynch made four appointments to its EMEA global markets financing and futures business.

Daniel Katz has been appointed as managing director and head of EMEA stock loan and structured marketing. Katz joins the company from Nomura where he was managing director and head of EMEA structured financing and delta one sales. Prior to Nomura, he spent 10 years at Morgan Stanley where he was a senior member of the structured equity finance sales and marketing team.

Ross McDougall has been appointed as a director and head of EMEA stock loan trading. Based in London, he will oversee the sourcing and facilitation of stock distribution and the ongoing development of client relationships. With over 17 years of experience, McDougall joins Bank from Morgan Stanley where he was executive director of financing arbitrage.

Both Katz and McDougall will report into Rajeev Patel, head of EMEA equity finance.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Murray Stewart, Marius Strydom, Andrew Snowdowne and Phil Southwell

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has announced the appointment of Murray Stewart as managing director of corporate broking and equity capital markets in southern Africa.

Marius Strydom and Andrew Snowdowne were named as directors of the firm’s southern African equity research team.

Fabrizio Gallo Joins Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced that Fabrizio Gallo is joining the company as co-head of global equities and EMEA global markets. He will be based in London and join the company in late summer.

Gallo joins Mike Stewart as co-head of global equities, with joint responsibility for all aspects of the company’s equity sales and trading businesses worldwide. Bank of America Merrill Lynch has named Ryan Holsheimer as head of Asia Pacific equity execution services.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced the expansion of its clean technology investment banking team with the addition of Jon Krahulik as managing director and global head of clean technology investment banking  and Riaz Ladhabhoy as director, clean technology investment banking.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced that Robert Arth has been named president of Bank of America Business Capital, based in New York.

Arth’s prior role was the BABC East Division executive. He has more than 29 years’ experience in the banking industry and joined Bank of America with the Fleet Bank merger. Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Christian Meissner and Jonathan Shiff

Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Bank of America announced that Christian Meissner has been appointed as head of investment banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Meissner will report to Michael Rubinoff and Purna Saggurti, co-heads of global investment banking, and drive the growth of the investment banking franchise across EMEA. Wayne Scott, head of EMEA financial institutions treasury sales, joined the company in January 2010 and is based in London. A career banker with a wide breadth of banking experience including roles in corporate banking, corporate finance, structured trade and corporate audit, Batliwalla will be responsible for growing the firm’s market share in providing treasury services to Asia Pacific-based bank and non-bank financial institutions. He will join from JP Morgan where he spent six years, most recently as the head of financial institutions, treasury Services sales Asia Pacific.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has also made four appointments to its Australian merger and acquisition advisory and corporate finance divisions.

Leon Pasternak has joined the company as vice chairman. Pasternak was formerly a senior partner at Australian-based international law firm Freehills.

Adam Penny has joined the company as a director on the merger and acquisitions team. Penny, who was most recently working for a London legal firm, was previously with Credit Suisse’s London M&A team for seven years.

Additionally, Michael Gregory has joined as a director on the industrials team and David Wenkart has joined as a vice president on the financial sponsors team.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch Appoints Charles Alexander, Percy Batliwalla, Tim Fleming, Denise Menelly and Wayne Scott

Bank of America Merrill Lynch announced that Charles Alexander has joined to be its head of Asia Pacific corporate banking coverage.

Alexander, who will continue to be based in Hong Kong, was regional head of origination and client coverage for North East Asia at Standard Chartered. He was also previously head of corporate finance for Asia excluding Japan at Lehman Brothers Holdings.

Bank of America Merrill also appointed Percy Batliwalla head of Asia Pacific financial institutions treasury sales.

Batliwalla will be based in Singapore and joins from J.P. Morgan Chase where he was most recently the head of financial institutions treasury services sales Asia Pacific.

Tim Fleming will also join in May as head of Asia Pacific corporate treasury sales, based in Hong Kong.

Fleming was most recently head of treasury and trade solutions sales in China at Citibank, the consumer banking arm of Citigroup.

Other recent appointments include Denise Menelly, chief operating officer, global treasury sales, based in New York, and Wayne Scott, head of EMEA financial institutions treasury sales based in London.

Menelly joins from Royal Bank of Scotland, where she has been the Americas chief operating officer and a vice chairman at Citizens Bank.

Scott was previously head of financial institutions for Western Europe at RBS.
