BNP Paribas Names Francois Regnier

BNP Paribas announced that it has named Francois Regnier as its country head for Russia. He replaces Jean-Yves Moiron who is going to take over the similar post in Portugal.

Regnier will be responsible for the overall development of the group in Russia, including the development of corporate and investment banking, and will work in Moscow. Upon completion of all required legal procedures, he will be elected chairman of the management board of BNP Paribas Bank CJSC and become a member of the bank’s supervisory board. He will report to Mark Carlos, deputy head of the European region of BNP Paribas Group.

BNP Names Robert Harrison, Adds Matt Pinnock

BNP Investment Partners, BNP Paribas Group’s asset management arm, has announced that it has named its Australian chief executive, Robert Harrison, as head of BNPP IP for North America.

BNP Paribas Announces Executive Changes

BNP Paribas brought on Timothy Bitsberger, a former Treasury Department official and Freddie Mac treasurer, to create and lead an official institutions coverage team for the Americas. Bitsberger was Freddie’s treasurer from 2006 until 2008. Before that, he worked for four years at the Treasury Department, first as deputy assistant secretary and then as assistant secretary for financial markets.

Bitsberger, who joined the firm as a managing director, reports to Veronique Ormezzano, head of official institutions coverage in Paris, as well as to Malley. BNP Paribas Asset Management has announced that it has appointed Michael Gordon as chief investment officer for equity. He reports to Christian Dargnat, chief investment officer of the multi-expertise investment center.

Gordon has more than 10 years of investment experience. He comes to BNP Paribas from Fidelity Investments International.

BNP Paribas Appoints Fred Zorzi, Rob Whichello, Marc Falconer and Katherine Dior

BNP Paribas has appointed Fred Zorzi and Rob Whichello as joint heads of global syndicate within the global debt syndicate platform.

Global syndicate encompasses all investment grade, emerging market, high yield, retail and medium-term note, or MTN, issuance.

BNPBNP Paribas announced the appointment of Adnan Zuberi as a director on the structured credit desk in New York. He reports to Jerome Wong, managing director, head of credit structuring, Americas.

Adnan joins from JP Morgan Chase where he was an executive director in structured credit since 2007 and was responsible for structuring for North American real money accounts. Prior to that, he spent five years at UBS in structured credit derivatives most recently as head of credit derivatives structuring. BNP Paribas Announces Management Changes

BNPThe board of directors of BNP Paribas has reshuffled the group’s general management in which Baudouin Prot will be the new CEO of the group. Under this new organization, the two COO’s who will be working with Mr. Prot are Georges Courcel, who was already in this position, and Jean-Laurent Bonnafe, whose appointment will become effective on September 1, 2008 and who will manage the group’s retail banking activities.
