Deutsche Bank AG Adds Joseph Spinelli, Brad Kurtzman, Jeff Christian, Jonathan Simon and Zahid Biviji

Deutsche Bank AG announced five senior additions to its equities business in North America.

Joseph Spinelli will join the bank in August as a managing director and head of North America cash equity trading. He will be based in New York and report to Thomas Patrick, head of equities for North America.

Spinelli joins from Goldman Sachs & Co., where he was a managing director and financial services sector head for equity trading. Prior to Goldman, he was the head equity trader at Ziff Brother Investments.

Brad Kurtzman will join the bank in July as a managing director and head of quantitative trading. He will be based in New York and report to Patrick.

Kurtzman brings more than 12 years of trading experience, most recently as head of US equity derivatives trading at Citibank.

Jeff Christian will join the bank in July as a managing director in equity derivatives sales, based in San Francisco. He will oversee West Coast coverage and report to Greg Kuppenheimer, head of US equity derivatives sales.

Christian will join the bank from Credit Suisse, where he spent four years managing West Coast equity derivative sales. Prior to Credit Suisse, he was an executive director at Morgan Stanley, covering hedge funds and asset managers.

Jonathan Simon will join in July as a managing director in equity derivatives sales. In this New York-based role, he will manage relationships with hedge funds and asset managers, and report to Kuppenheimer.

Simon has more than 20 years of experience and spent the last eight years as a managing director in equity derivative sales at Citigroup.

Zahid Biviji started in April as a managing director in index flow trading. He is based in New York and reports to Tom Jarck, head of US index flow trading.

Biviji joined from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he spent more than 10 years, most recently as head of US single stock options trading. -Business Wire

Deutsche Bank AG Appoints Maxim Lojevsky

Maxim Lojevsky has been appointed as Deutsche Bank AG’s new managing director and co-head of capital markets for Russia and the CIS. He will co-head with fellow managing director Vadim Martynenko.

Lojevsky joins from UBS, where he was head of sales, coverage and debt capital markets for Russia and the CIS. He previously worked for Deutsche Bank as senior originator for Russia between 2007 and 2010. He has also held roles at BNP Paribas and at Bank Austria Creditanstalt.

Deutsche Bank AG announced that Maurice Marchesini will join the bank as a managing director and head of investment banking coverage for Latin America.

Deutsche Bank AG Appoints Gunit Chadha and Alan Cloete

Deutsche Bank AG announced that Gunit Chadha, Deutsche Bank India chief executive officer, is set to move to Singapore as co-head Asia. Chadha and Alan Cloete have been appointed co CEOs of Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific, beginning June. Both will also join the bank’s global group executive committee.

Chadha has been country head and chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank Group in India and a member of Deutsche Bank’s Asia Pacific executive committee since 2003.

Deutsche Bank AG announced that Jeffrey Bunzel will join the firm’s equity capital markets group as a managing director and head of equity capital markets for the Americas.

Bunzel will be based in New York, reporting to Mark Hantho, global co-head of equity capital markets. He will also become a member of the bank’s corporate and investment banking Americas executive committee.

Deutsche Bank AG announced that Binky Chadha has been named chief global strategist.

In this newly created position, Chandha will publish in-depth views on key issues across asset classes and regions and look at strategic and tactical opportunities. He reports to David Folkerts-Landau, global head of research.

Deutsche Bank AG Appoints Salah Jaidah and Ibrahim Qasim

Salah Jaidah has been appointed as Deutsche Bank AG’s new chairman of Islamic finance.

Jaidah will administer the bank’s operations in Qatar as chief country officer and vice chairman for MENA.

Jaidah is currently a board member of several Islamic finance institutions in Middle East and South East Asia.

Deutsche Bank AG’s insurance asset management business has expanded its insurance managed equities (IME) team with the hire of Xiaoyu Liu as a portfolio manager and director in New York. Liu reports to Di Kumble, a managing director and head of the IME portfolio team. Along with the rest of the team, Liu is responsible for managing the division’s $6.5 billion IME portfolios. Elena Loginova is appointed head key clients Russia, beginning June 20, 2011. Deutsche Bank AG has appointed Salah Jaidah as its chief country officer (CCO) for Qatar and general manager of its branch at the Qatar Financial Centre. He replaces Mounir Husseini.
