FBR Capital Markets Announces Appointment

FBR Capital Markets announced the addition of four analysts to its research platform.

Alex Potter has joined FBR Capital Markets’ subsidiary Friedman, Billings, Ramsey International as senior vice president within financial institutions research.

Eric Tracy has joined FBR Capital Markets’ consumer group as Senior Vice President in Arlington, Virginia.

Marc de Croisset has joined the firm’s energy & natural resources group in New York as vice president.

Chris Wetherbee has joined the firm’s diversified industrials group in New York as vice president.

Mr. Potter broadens FBR Capital Markets’ coverage of European Financials and expands the firm’s London-based European Research platform launched earlier this year. With 12 years of experience in equity research covering financial institutions, Mr. Potter joins FBR Capital Markets from Collins Stewart.

FBR Capital Markets Appoints Kevin Phillips

FBR Capital Markets announced that it has established a restructuring finance & advisory group in investment banking which will be led by senior managing director and Wall Street veteran Kevin Phillips. FBR Capital Markets announced the addition of Trey Whipple to its convertible securities team as managing director. Separately, the firm also announced the promotion of Alexander J. FBR Capital Markets announced the hiring of two industry professionals, previously with Bear Stearns, who will launch the firm’s origination and trading of equity-linked securities, including both convertibles and equity derivatives.
