RBC Capital Markets Adds Michael Lexton

RBC Capital Markets has added Michael Lexton to lead RBC’s transportation finance business. He started work at RBC on April 23.

Lexton works in the U.S. municipal finance section of RBC’s New York City office as a managing director and the manager of the municipal transportation sector, overseeing transportation transactions for the entire country. He will pursue bond underwriting business from transportation issuers – toll roads, highways, airports, bridges, tunnels and ports as well as other projects.

RBC Capital Markets Appoints Harry Samuel and David Thomas

RBC Capital Markets announced two key executive appointments to its European leadership team.

Harry Samuel, currently global co-head of fixed income and currencies and global head of treasury services, has been appointed chief executive officer, Europe, RBC Capital Markets.

Having been closely involved in RBC’s growth in European capital markets for the past 12 years, in conjunction with RBC Capital Markets’ global operating committee, Samuel will provide strategic direction and leadership for all business groups in Europe.

Samuel has spent 22 years working at RBC in London, Toronto and Sydney, where he was responsible for RBC’s global fixed income, foreign exchange, wholesale funding, liquidity and securities finance.

David Thomas, currently global head of technology and operations, has been appointed chief operating officer, Europe, RBC Capital Markets.

In his new role, Thomas will be jointly responsible for overseeing RBC Capital Markets in Europe.

Thomas joined RBC in 1992 and in his 19 years with the investment bank has held senior positions in IT, risk management and compliance.

RBC Capital Markets Names Frederic Laine

RBC Capital Markets announced that it has named Frederic Laine as a managing director and the head of fixed income and currencies for Asia, excluding Japan.

In his new role based in Hong Kong, Laine will be responsible for RBC’s fixed income and currencies business in Asia, overseeing operations in Hong Kong, Beijing and Singapore.

Harris Kretsge, Paul Neuhedel and Todd Holder Join RBC Capital Markets

RBC Capital Markets announced that Harris Kretsge has joined the firm as a managing director and head of the U.S. municipal finance public power group. He will be based in New York and report to Jim Tricolli, managing director and head of RBC’s municipal finance, East region.

A 25-year veteran of the industry, Kretsge is one of the leading bankers in public power and a nationally recognized expert in providing financial and strategic solutions to municipally-owned and cooperative electric utilities. Most recently, he built and led as the head of the energy and environment group at JP Morgan. He joined JP Morgan in 1997 and became head of the public power group in 2000. He also led the firm’s national municipal gas, rural electric cooperative, and tax-exempt corporate-backed business lines. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Lehman Brothers where he led the public finance quantitative solutions group.

Paul Neuhedel and Todd Holder have also joined RBC as managing directors.

Neuhedel also joins RBC’s New York office. He will lead the firm’s efforts with a number of municipal and cooperative electric utilities.

Neuhedel spent the previous 10 years at JP Morgan, where he was a key member of the public power team working with municipal utilities and electric cooperatives. His previous employment experience includes having worked with utilities in a variety of capacities including positions at Fitch, Ambac, the New York Power Authority and Long Island Lighting Company.

Holder joins RBC’s Dallas municipal finance office. He will focus on public power authorities as well as general government clients in Florida and Texas.

RBC Capital Markets Appoints Frank Napolitano, Kevin Smith, Ron Eliasek, Ian Woods, Jeff Abt, Andrew Rosenbaum, Michael Davis, Jon Huerta and David Archibald

RBC Capital Markets announced a series of high-profile appointments and additions within its U.S. investment banking business, all based in New York.

Frank Napolitano was appointed to head the formation of a new U.S. power and utilities group.

Napolitano brings to RBC more than 23 years of experience in the energy power and utilities space.

Kevin Smith will head the U.S. industrials group.

RBC Appoints Stefanie Holtze And Reginald Davis

RBC Capital Markets Announces New Appointments

RBCRBC Capital Markets appointed Russell Jones as head of fixed income and currencies, global research. Adam Cole was named head of global FX strategy research. Jones joins from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where he was a senior economist. Before that, he spent nine years at Lehman Brothers, where he was chief international economist and head of FX research. Cole joined RBC Capital Markets in 2004.
